FAQ Underfloor Heating Thin-Layer System
The Most Frequent Questions on Buying, Laying, and Installing NerthusFlow.
Three points are crucial when purchasing the NerthusFlow thin-layer system: (1) System height – with MC KLETT NF, you already achieve 17 mm (2 mm fleece + 10 mm PE-RT + 5 mm Planogel Rheo). (2) Substrate – the self-adhesive backing adheres to screed, tiles, and wood without removal. (3) Screed – Kerakoll Planogel Rheo (CAF) is mandatory for the minimum construction height and significantly shortens drying times. All components are coordinated and comply with DIN 18560 and DIN EN 1264.
Material costs (without screed): from ~€22/m² (studded mat + PE-RT heating pipe + edge insulation strips). With Planogel Rheo special screed: approx. €42/m² (12 bags at €35 for 10 m² = €42/m² screed share alone). Total material costs including screed: approx. €64/m² on a 10 m² basis. In the complete set configurator, you receive a 3–10% discount compared to individual purchase. No hidden additional costs – all components are included in the set.
Yes. Thin-layer systems are suitable for self-assembly by experienced DIY enthusiasts. The hook-and-loop system, in particular, is a breeze: clean the subfloor, lay out the base plate, attach the edge insulation strips, fix the pipe. Important: The hydraulic commissioning, connection to the heating system, and screed work should be carried out by specialist companies. Our MC Therm installation instructions and our support will guide you step by step.
MC KLETT NF (17 mm): Lowest possible installation height – for maximum space constraints. Dimpled sheet 10–12 mm (18 mm): Standard renovation with 10–12 mm PE-RT. Dimpled sheet 16 mm (22 mm): If a 16 mm pipe is desired. TempusFlat Klett (Thin-layer hook and loop system): Adhesion bridge between the subfloor and special screed, compliant with DIN 18560 + EN 1264. All variants can be selected in the configurator.
