FAQ Buying a Heating Circuit Manifold
Frequently asked questions before buying.
The underfloor heating manifold distributes the heating water from the boiler evenly to all underfloor heating circuits and enables individual regulation of each circuit via flow meters and actuators. It is the heart of every underfloor heating installation.
As a rule of thumb: max. 100–120 m of pipe per heating circuit. With a pipe spacing of 15 cm, this corresponds to approx. 15–18 m² per heating circuit. For a 100 m² house, you will need approx. 6–8 heating circuits, depending on the layout.
Flow meters enable hydraulic balancing: Each heating circuit receives precisely the amount of water it needs for optimal heating performance. This saves energy and ensures uniform heat in all rooms.
Yes – all MC Therm manifolds are compatible with commercially available actuators (230V and 24V). Recommendation: Engo E30NC-230 thermoelectric actuator – over 100,000 switching cycles, first-opener function.
The manifold is installed in the heating circuit manifold box (flush-mounted or surface-mounted), as centrally as possible to all heating circuits. Important: ensure sufficient space for pipe connections, actuators and maintenance access.
