FAQ Underfloor Heating Hook & Loop System
Common pre-purchase questions.
Three points are crucial for the MC Klett hook-and-loop system: (1) Hook-and-loop fleece variant: Slim (2 mm, from 25 mm build-up height) for standard, Silent (5 mm, 28 dB, DIN 4109) for sound insulation requirements. (2) Heating pipe: Only the PE-Xa EVOH hook-and-loop pipe Ø 16 mm adheres to the hook-and-loop fleece – tool-free and adjustable. (3) Area: From 20 m² Slim complete set from €300.61. 3–10% quantity discount in the configurator. All components comply with DIN EN 1264.
The MC Klett Slim complete set (20–200 m²) starts from €300.61 for 20 m² (≈ €15/m² pure material system costs without screed). With wet screed (20–40 €/m²), total material costs amount to 35–55 €/m². In the configurator, you receive tiered quantity discounts of 3–10% compared to individual purchases.
The tacker system is more affordable (from €8/m²) and ideal for standard rooms and DIY. The hook-and-loop system offers more flexibility in pipe spacing and is better suited for complex layouts, commercial properties, and areas over 200 m² where free pipe routing is crucial.
Yes – the hook-and-loop system is very easy to install thanks to the hook-and-loop mat. Roll out the pipe, position it on the mat, and you're done. As with the tacker system, however, hydraulic commissioning and screeding work should be carried out by specialist companies.
Yes - MC Therm supplies the hook and loop system as a complete package: including hook and loop mats, PE-Xa heating pipes, edge insulation strips, heating circuit distributors and accessories. All parts are coordinated with each other and comply with DIN EN 1264-4. Directly orderable by room size.
