Tacker System Cost Structure: What does what cost?
The tacker system consists of five cost items: EPS insulation board, heating pipe, grid film, tacker clips, and edge insulation strip. In addition, there is the screed (installed separately by a specialist company). With a standard pipe spacing of 15 cm (= 6.67 m pipe/m²) and EPS WLG 040, the material price in 2026 will be €7.90/m². With cement screed (approx. €9/m²), the total price is €16.90/m². This is inexpensive compared to other wet screed systems – and significantly cheaper than dry systems with the same heating output.

Frequent questions about tacker system costs
In 2026, the tacker system will cost between €7.90 and €13.09/m² for materials, depending on the variant (excluding screed). With cement screed (approx. €9/m²), the total costs will be between €16.90/m² (EPS WLG 040, standard) and €22.09/m² (hollow chamber PP). The complete set starts from €8.50/m² (sale price).
For 100 m² with EPS WLG 040 and 15 cm pipe spacing: Material approx. €790 + edge insulation strips approx. €101 = €891 just for the tacker system. With screed (approx. €900), this totals approx. €1,791 for all materials. Labor costs for installation are extra—typically €8–15/m² depending on the region.
The surcharge for EPS WLG 035 (€3.44/m²) compared to WLG 040 (€2.43/m²) is €1.01/m². For 50 m², this amounts to approximately €50 in additional material costs. The total construction with EPS WLG 035 costs €8.91/m² instead of €7.90/m² — approximately 13% more.
For a standard pipe spacing of 15 cm: 6.67 m of pipe per m². For 10 cm spacing: 10 m/m². For 20 cm: 5 m/m². Always plan for approx. 10% waste for bends and connections. For an area of 50 m² and 15 cm spacing, this means approx. 50 × 6.67 × 1.1 = approx. 367 m of pipe.
Perimeter insulation strips cost €2.53/linear meter. You determine the room perimeter by measuring all walls and door frames. A 20 m² room (4 × 5 m) has an approximate perimeter of 18 linear meters = approx. €46. A 100 m² floor plan (10 × 10 m) has approx. 40 linear meters = approx. €101.
The complete set (10 m²) costs €8.50/m² (sale price, regularly €9.50/m²). If put together individually (EPS WLG 040 + foil + pipe + clips + edge), it comes to approx. €7.90/m² without the edge insulation strip flat rate. The complete set is more convenient for smaller areas, while for larger projects, individual components are more worthwhile.
For laying (without screed), specialized companies charge 8–15 €/m², depending on the region. The screed itself is charged by the screed layer — typically 9–14 €/m² for cement screed. If you lay it yourself (DIY) for steps 1–7, you save approx. 8–15 €/m² — which means 400–750 € for 50 m².
