The edge insulation strip with foil flange and self-adhesive strip for wallsis used for the standard-compliant separation of screed from adjacent structural components according to DIN 18560. It consists of closed-cell high-pressure PE foam with improved impact sound insulation. The welded-on PE film prevents the penetration of flow screed and screed water. Thanks to its self-adhesive properties, the edge insulation strip can be quickly and securely fixed to the wall. Ideal for new construction and renovation of modern floor constructions.

What is one-sided wall bonding sufficient for?

The wall-side self-adhesive strip securely fastens to the wall. The floor area automatically lies flat due to its own weight and the screed applied later. For professional screed layers, this variant is often sufficient.

What is the difference to the variant with double self-adhesion?

The variant with double self-adhesive backing (wall + floor) is slightly more expensive, but even easier to install – especially with raised floors or uneven surfaces where the strip might otherwise slip.

How is the perimeter insulation strip cut and laid?

The strip is applied circumferentially to all walls, columns, and penetrations before the underfloor heating is laid. The self-adhesive surface is simply pressed against the wall, with the film flange initially protruding upwards. The strip can be cut to size with scissors or a utility knife – any excess is trimmed flush after the screed has been laid.

What is the purpose of the foil flange and when is it folded over?

The foil flange prevents liquid or fine particles from penetrating the edge joint when the screed is laid, thus creating a sound bridge. It remains upright during screed installation and is only cut flush with the top edge of the screed after it has hardened and before the floor covering is laid.
