Drywall Underfloor Heating Costs 2026 — EPS 300 vs. Wood Fiber Price Comparison

Step 1: Select system panel variant and determine base price: EPS 300 System Panel: €14.92/m² — Standard for concrete floors, single-family homes without sound insulation requirements. Wood Fiber Acoustic System Panel: €22.64/m² — for timber beam ceilings, multi-family homes, sound insulation up to 56 dB. Price Difference: €7.72/m². For 50 m²: €386 additional cost for integrated sound insulation. If you are renovating only in a single-family home: choose EPS 300. If you are building in an apartment above/below neighbors: wood fiber pays off.

Step 2: Calculate heat guide plates and pipe: Heat conductive plates: 4.5 pcs./m² × €1.77/pc. = €7.97/m². At 150 mm pipe spacing (standard). Composite pipe: 7 m/m² × €0.70/m = €4.90/m². At 150 mm spacing, 7 meters of pipe run per square meter. Tighter spacing 100 mm: 10 m/m² × €0.70 = €7.00/m² (higher output makes sense in old buildings). Step 5: Comparison with wet screed underfloor heating systems: Tacker system material: €8–15/m². Wet screed for this: €20–40/m². Drying time: 7–21 days. Total Tacker + wet screed: €28–55/m². Dry construction system EPS 300 including dry screed: €42.06/m². Net additional costs compared to Tacker: approx. €0–14/m². In return: no wet screed, no screed layer, walkable after 24–72 h, no construction moisture. On wooden beam ceilings: dry construction is the only option — no comparison possible.
