Staple plate EPS 035 Underfloor Heating – Folding plate 20–50 mm

A tacker plate (also known as a folding plate or system plate) is the insulation sublayer in the underfloor heating tacker system. It consists of EPS rigid foam with a covering film and a 5 cm installation grid. Heating pipes are fixed in the grid with tacker needles (anchor clips) before the screed is applied.

The EPS 035 tacker board offers the best thermal insulation value and is suitable for new buildings with GEG requirements as well as commercial areas (10 kN/m²). WLG 040 is the standard tacker board for residential buildings (5 kN/m²). WLG 045 is the most affordable option for normal residential areas (4 kN/m²).

The EPS 035 staple plate is available in 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 50 mm. For 30 mm: thermal resistance 0.857 m²K/W, impact sound reduction 26 dB. The appropriate thickness depends on the insulation class and structural height.

Heating pipes (16 mm or 17 mm) are fixed to the tacker plate with tacker pins. The 5 cm laying grid allows pipe spacing of 10, 15, 20 or 25 cm. Approximately 2–3 tacker pins are required per running meter of pipe. After the pressure test (water pressure test 6 bar, 30 min), the screed is applied.

DIN 18560 regulates screeds in construction. The covering film of the tacker plate with a 3 cm overlap protects the EPS insulation core from cement slurry and moisture from the screed - this permanently maintains the insulation effect and prevents cavities from forming under the screed.
