The EPS 040 tacker plate from MC Therm is the proven standard system plate in the tacker system for underfloor heating. As a folding panel made of EPS rigid foam from thermal conductivity group 040, it offers reliable and economical thermal insulation for all common residential buildings in new construction and renovation.

With a compressive strength of 5 kN/m², the EPS 040 tacker plate covers all typical residential requirements. The coated cover film with a 5 cm installation grid allows for easy fixing of the heating pipes and ensures moisture protection according to DIN 18560. The folding technology simplifies transport and installation.

Available in 7 thicknesses (15–50 mm) as a folding panel (1,000 × 2,000 mm). As a 30mm tacker plate (variant 30-2), it achieves approx. 0.75 m²K/W thermal resistance. Directly from the OEM manufacturer MC Therm Chemnitz.

What is the difference between EPS 040 and EPS 035 staple plates?

The EPS 035 tacker board has better thermal insulation (WLG 035 vs. 040) and higher compressive strength (10 kN/m² vs. 5 kN/m²). EPS 040 is the standard choice for normal residential buildings and is more affordable. EPS 035 is recommended for high energy efficiency requirements (KfW, GEG) or commercial areas.

What laying distances is the tacker plate suitable for?

The EPS 040 staple plate with a 5 cm pipe-laying grid allows pipe spacings of 10, 15, 20, and 25 cm. The spacing depends on the heating load calculation: edge zones often require 10 cm, inner zones 15–25 cm. The laying grid facilitates precise pipe positioning.

Which tacker plate do I need for a 30mm installation height?

For 30 mm tacker plate thickness, variant 30-2 (EPS 040 DES sg) is suitable. It achieves a thermal resistance of approx. 0.75 m²K/W and is ideal for new build screed constructions according to GEG. For higher insulation, choose the 30-2 in EPS 035 (0.857 m²K/W).

Can I use the stapler plate in an old building?

Yes, the EPS 040 staple plate is also suitable for old buildings, provided there is sufficient installation height. Typical plate thicknesses are 20–30 mm plus screed thickness (45–65 mm). If the installation height is very low, we recommend the NerthusFlow thin-layer system as an alternative.

How many tacker plates do I need for my area?

One packing unit (10 m²) of tacker board EPS 040 covers 10 m² (variants 15-2 to 35-2). For larger projects, calculate the required quantity in m² directly and order the corresponding packing unit packages. For orders over 200 m², please contact us for a customized offer.
