Underfloor heating staple plate EPS 045 – folding plate 20–50 mm

The staple plate (also known as a folding plate) is the system insulation panel for underfloor heating stapling systems. It insulates against heat loss downwards and dampens impact sound. Heating pipes are secured with stapler pins in a 5 cm grid. After that, the screed is applied – and the underfloor heating is complete.

For a 20 mm installation height, we recommend the EPS 045 variant 20-2 (WLG 045, 4 kN/m²) or EPS 035 variant 20-2 (WLG 035, 10 kN/m²) tacker plate. EPS 045 is the more affordable standard choice, while EPS 035 offers better insulation values with the same space requirement.

The staple plates are butted together, and the film overlap of 3 cm is placed over the adjacent plate. Ensure edge strips are fitted to walls. Then, fix the heating pipes in the laying grid and, after a pressure test (6 bar, 30 min), apply the screed.

Yes, staple plates can be laid on a level, load-bearing substrate – on concrete, old screed, or wooden floorboards. The substrate must be dry, level (max. 3 mm/m unevenness), and load-bearing. For wooden floors, ensure sufficient construction height and structural integrity.

Approximately 2–3 staple pins are needed per running meter of heating pipe. With a pipe spacing of 15 cm over 10 m², you will need approximately 700 m of pipe and accordingly 1,400–2,100 staple pins. Staple pins are available for 16 mm and 17 mm heating pipes.
