PE-RT-ALU-PE metal composite pipe

The PE-RT-ALU-PE multilayer composite pipe is dimensionally stable – it maintains its bent shape and does not "spring back." This significantly simplifies installation on site. In addition, thermal expansion is minimal due to the aluminum layer (~0.025 mm/(m·K)), which prevents creaking and tension in the floor structure.

Yes. The PE-RT-ALU-PE multilayer composite pipe is DVGW-certified (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water) and thus approved for drinking water installations. It can be used for heating and plumbing.

Connection is made via press or clamp fittings. For PE-RT-ALU-PE, special fittings approved for multi-layer composite pipes are required (e.g. press sleeve system). Standard heating pipe fittings for PE-RT or PE-Xa are not suitable.

The aluminum layer has minimal expansion (metal expands very little). Although the PE-RT layers have higher expansion, the total expansion is limited to ~0.025 mm/(m·K) by the mechanical connection to the aluminum layer – about 6x less than pure PE-RT (~0.15 mm/(m·K)).
